Apprentice of the Year

Do you have an apprentice who has truly shone above the rest, achieving success and demonstrating unrivalled commitment and initiative? Judges want to know why your apprentice is the best and why they deserve to win this award.
Bus Operator of the Year
Wales is home to some of the most pioneering and industrious bus operators in the UK. Together they carry out more than 100 million passenger journeys every year helping thousands of commuters get to the places they need to be. The Bus Operator of the Year Award celebrates their outstanding work and judges are looking for bus operators that have achieved customer growth and satisfaction through the development of a bus network built upon innovation and excellence.
Coach Operator of the Year
The Coach Operator of the Year award will recognise those organisations that demonstrate a dedication to maintaining excellent customer service through attributes such as; ensuring customer safety and investing in their fleets and staff to maintain high operational and engineering standards. The Coach Operator of the Year award is aim to those organisations that run operations such as, but not limited to, school trips, business hire, day trips & tours, private hire and more. Judges are looking for coach operators that are committed to helping the environment and keeping the quality of their services high to aid in the business growth and success.
Community Transport Award
Community transport is about providing flexible and accessible community-led solutions in response to unmet local transport needs. The Community Transport Award will recognise those organisations that go above and beyond in their communities to create a better, safer and more inclusive transport experience for those that find conventional transport a challenge, be that due to old age, disability or isolation.
Contribution to Sustainable Transport Award
Transport Operators not only in Wales, but world-wide, are facing new challenges to become more environmentally friendly due to the increasing pressures of global warming. The Contribution to Sustainable Transport Award will recognise those organisations that have executed policies to reduce their impact on the environment – i.e. Reducing carbon emissions by improving the efficiency of their operations and/or by investing in new technologies or alternative fuels.
Customer Care Award
Delivering exceptional customer care is what enables businesses to grow and build reputations to last a life-time. Achieving that exemplary level of customer satisfaction requires meticulous levels of preparation and execution, delivering a package that engages and supports customers so they feel truly valued. Welsh businesses know how to put their customers first and judges want to hear how yours has gone that extra mile to do so.
Driver of the Year
Often the unsung heroes, drivers are multi-skilled individuals who are the essential component of any transport organisation. From LGVs to buses, they are skilled, committed and customer focused. Judges are looking for those who have shone even more brightly for the company they work for and raised the bar for other drivers to try and reach.
Excellence in Technology and Innovation Award
Technology is helping companies in the transport sector improve how they operate, grow their businesses and serve their customers. Judges are looking for a project that uses the latest technology (whether in vehicles, components, infrastructures or IT) to drive innovation in the way a company operates and that has delivered a solution to enhancing the way you engage your services or customers.
Haulier of the Year
From haulage to logistics, large goods vehicles are paramount to our economy and the driving force behind the success of many industries. Judges are looking for LGV operators (fleets of five or more above 7.5 tonnes) that have achieved outstanding success in their standards of performance. This involves every facet of a company from its staff training programmes and infrastructures to its productivity, quality of fleet and levels of customer excellence.
Large Fleet of the Year (11 + Vehicles)
Wales is proud to boast some of the country’s finest fleets, both small and large, that collectively demonstrate the meticulous preparation and investment that goes into developing a fleet of vehicles that delivers success. Judges are looking for fleets consisting of 11+ vehicles that operationally are maintained and run with unwavering precision and that focus on their responsibilities for a greener future, whilst visually looking modern and engaging.
Livery of the Year
Does your livery stand-out as being modern, stylish and engaging; a brand that stands above the rest and sells your company at its very best? Wales leads the way when it comes to liveries that promote innovative company images that in turn support a positive perception of the transport industry. Judges are particularly interested in liveries that achieve this tone with effective designs and messaging.
Private Hire Operator of the Year
The Private Hire Operator of the Year award is designed to recognise chauffeur and private hire operators that demonstrate excellent standards of Quality, Service and Innovation. The award will recognise operators within the private hire sector such as, but not limited to: PHV with fewer than nine passengers, hackney carriages, chauffeurs and executive transport. Judges are looking for firms that deliver exceptional standards of customer service and demonstrate innovative ways to improve business.
Services to the Transport Industry Award
This award recognises the outstanding performance of a person/organisation that has consistently delivered excellent services to the transport sector such as; IT Support, marketing, business development, financial services etc. The judges are looking for candidates to show how they have consistently delivered innovative and client focused services to enhance their client offerings.
Small Fleet of the Year (5-10 Vehicles)
Wales is proud to boast some of the country’s finest fleets that collectively demonstrate the meticulous preparation and investment that goes into developing a fleet of vehicles that delivers success. Judges are looking for fleets consisting of 5-10 vehicles that operationally are maintained and run with unwavering precision and that focus on their responsibilities for a greener future, whilst visually looking modern and engaging.
Transport Team of the Year
This award is open to all teams who are part of a transport or logistics operation. Judges are looking for a team that demonstrates exceptional team work in being able to deliver a major project on time and to a budget or consistently over-achieving in their field of operation.
Van Operator of the Year
Van operators play an integral role in Wales’ transport network. Judges are looking for operators (fleets of five or more vans up to 7.5 tonnes) that have achieved outstanding success in their standards of performance. This involves every facet of a company from its staff training programmes and infrastructures to its productivity, quality of fleet and levels of customer excellence.
Women in Transport
The transport industry not only in Wales but nationwide is predominately male dominated. This award aims to recognise women within the Welsh transport industry, no matter what their role within the organisation. This award will be presented to a woman who has shown dedication and passion to her work within the Welsh transport sector.
